RESUMO

Clubroot, caused by Plasmodiophora brassicae, is a major disease that significantly impairs the yield of cruciferous crops and causes significant economic losses across the globe. The prevention of clubroot, especially in tumorous stem mustard (without resistant varieties), are is limited and primarily relies on fungicides. Engineered nanoparticles have opened up new avenues for the management of plant diseases, but there is no report on their application in the prevention of clubroot. The results showed that the control efficacy of 500 mg/L MgO NPs against clubroot was 54.92%. However, when the concentration was increased to 1,500 and 2,500 mg/L, there was no significant change in the control effect. Compared with CK, the average fresh and dry weight of the aerial part of plants treated with MgO NPs increased by 392.83 and 240.81%, respectively. Compared with the F1000 treatment, increases were observed in the content of soil available phosphorus (+16.72%), potassium (+9.82%), exchangeable magnesium (+24.20%), and water-soluble magnesium (+20.64%) in the 1,500 mg/L MgO NPs treatment. The enzyme-linked immune sorbent assay (ELISA) results showed that the application of MgO NPs significantly increased soil peroxidase (POD, +52.69%), alkaline protease (AP, +41.21%), alkaline phosphatase (ALP, +79.26%), urease (+52.69%), and sucrase (+56.88%) activities; And also increased plant L-phenylalanine ammonla-lyase (PAL, +70.49%), polyphenol oxidase (PPO, +36.77%), POD (+38.30%), guaiacol peroxidase (POX, +55.46%) activities and salicylic acid (SA, +59.86%) content. However, soil and plant catalase (CAT, -27.22 and - 19.89%, respectively), and plant super oxidase dismutase (SOD, -36.33%) activities were significantly decreased after the application of MgO NPs. The metagenomic sequencing analysis showed that the MgO NPs treatments significantly improved the α-diversity of the rhizosphere soil microbial community. The relative abundance of beneficial bacteria genera in the rhizosphere soil, including Pseudomonas, Sphingopyxis, Acidovorax, Variovorax, and Bosea, was significantly increased. Soil metabolic functions, such as oxidative phosphorylation (ko00190), carbon fixation pathways in prokaryotes (ko00720), indole alkaloid biosynthesis (ko00901), and biosynthesis of various antibiotics (ko00998) were significantly enriched. These results suggested that MgO NPs might control clubroot by promoting the transformation and utilization of soil nutrients, stimulating plant defense responses, and enriching soil beneficial bacteria.

Manipulating the structural and kinetic dissociation processes of water at the catalyst-electrolyte interface is vital for alkaline hydrogen evolution reactions (HER) at industrial current density. This is seldom actualized due to the intricacies of the electrochemical reaction interface. Herein, this work introduces a rapid, nonequilibrium cooling technique for synthesizing ternary Turing catalysts with short-range ordered structures (denoted as FeNiRu/C). These advanced structures empower the FeNiRu/C to exhibit excellent HER performance in 1 m KOH with an ultralow overpotential of 6.5 and 166.2 mV at 10 and 1000 mA cm-2, respectively, and a specific activity 7.3 times higher than that of Pt/C. Comprehensive mechanistic analyses reveal that abundant atomic species form asymmetric atomic electric fields on the catalyst surface inducing a directed evolution and the dissociation process of interfacial H2O molecules. In addition, the locally topologized structure effectively mitigates the high hydrogen coverage of the active site induced by the high current density. The establishment of the relationship between free water population and HER activity provides a new paradigm for the design of industrially relevant high performance alkaline HER catalysts.

The natural attributes of perishable and vulnerable cold chain products make the cold chain have more risks than the general supply chain. The attribute characteristics and internal relations of various risks increase the complexity of risk analysis. The purpose of this paper is to study the horizontal and vertical assessment of various risk factors. The multi-dimensional risk measurement model is used to integrate the assessment of multiple risk factors of human, machine, environment, and management, and the cold chain risk management is discussed from the perspective of risk factor classification. The root-state risk identification (RSRI) method was used to identify potential risks. Based on the double standard filtering and multiple criteria, the filtering of irrelevant risks and screening of uncontrollable risks were evaluated, and the triangular fuzzy number method was used to quantitatively evaluate the controllable risk factors. A total of 223 potential risks, 18 important risks, and 6 key risks were identified, followed by inspection and quarantine reports, pesticide residues, improper loading and unloading operations, unqualified centralized environment, unqualified pre-cooling technology of carriages, and unreasonable storage temperature. According to the analysis results, targeted control measures are proposed to better prevent risks and reduce the probability of cold chain accidents. The traditional risk assessment method can only assess the impact of a single risk factor on the system. This assessment method overcomes this limitation and provides a new perspective for cold chain risk management. PRACTICAL APPLICATION: This study laid the foundation for further risk safety management of cold chain logistics.

Carbon-based materials have received wide attention as electrodes for energy storage and conversion owing to their rapid mass transfer processes, outstanding electronic conductivities, and high stabilities. Here, sulfur-doped carbonized bacterial cellulose (S-CBC) was prepared as a high-performance anode for sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) by simultaneous carbonization and sulfidation using the bacterial cellulose membrane produced by microbial fermentation as the precursor. Doping sublimed sulfur powder into CBC results in a greater degree of disorder and defects, buffering the volume expansion during the cycle. Significantly, the three-dimensional (3D) network structure of bacterial cellulose endows S-CBC with flexible self-support. As an anode for sodium ion batteries, S-CBC exhibits a high specific capacity of 302.9 mA h g-1 at 100 mA g-1 after 50 cycles and 177.6 mA h g-1 at 2 A g-1 after 1000 cycles. Compared with the CBC electrode, the S-CBC electrode also exhibits enhanced rate performance in sodium storage. Moreover, theoretical simulations reveal that Na+ has good adsorption stability and a faster diffusion rate in S-CBC. The doping of the S element introduces defects that enlarge the interlayer distance, and the synergies of adsorption and bonding are the main reasons for its high performance. These results indicate the potential application prospects of S-CBC as a flexible binder-free electrode for high-performance SIBs.

A bulk-size single crystal of Y2Mo4O15 with 20 × 11 × 8 mm3 was successfully grown by the top-seed solution growth (TSSG) method. The full-width at half maximum of (100) and (010) crystal faces is 37 and 27 arcsec, respectively. The thermal conductivity coefficients κ 11, κ 22, κ 33, and κ 13 are determined to be 1.519, 2.097, 0.445, and 0.997 W m-1 K-1, respectively. It is worth noting that the Y2Mo4O15 crystal shows significant anisotropy thermal expansion properties, which exhibits a negative thermal expansion along the b-axis (α 22 = -5.11 × 10-6 K-1). The crystal structure analysis shows that the shrinking of Mo-O bond lengths along the b-axis with the increasing temperature would be the main origin of the negative thermal expansion properties for Y2Mo4O15 crystal, which does not comply with the current mechanism.

A low-cost, stable and non-precious metal catalyst for efficient degradation of tetracycline (TC), one of the most widely used antibiotics, has been developed. We report the facile fabrication of an electrolysis-assisted nano zerovalent iron system (E-NZVI) that achieved TC removal efficiency of 97.3% with the initial concentration of 30 mg L-1 at an applied voltage of 4 V, which was 6.3 times higher than the NZVI system without an applied voltage. The improvement caused by electrolysis was mainly attributed to the stimulation of corrosion of NZVI, which accelerated the release of Fe2+. And Fe3+ in the E-NZVI system could receive electrons to reduce to Fe2+, which facilitated the conversion of ineffective ions to effective ions with reducing ability. Moreover, electrolysis assisted to expand the pH range of the E-NZVI system for TC removal. The uniformly dispersed NZVI in the electrolyte facilitated the collection and secondary contamination could be prevented with the easy recycling and regeneration of the spent catalyst. In addition, scavenger experiments revealed that the reducing ability of NZVI was accelerated in the presence of electrolysis, rather than oxidation. TEM-EDS mapping, XRD and XPS analyses indicated that electrolytic effects could also delay the passivation of NZVI after a long run. This is mainly due to the increased electromigration, implying that the corrosion products of iron (iron hydroxides and oxides) are not formed mainly near or on the surface of NZVI. The electrolysis-assisted NZVI shows excellent removal efficiency of TC and is a potential water treatment method for the degradation of antibiotic contaminants.

Soil nematodes are considered indicators of soil quality due to their immediate responses to changes in the soil environment and plants. However, little is known about the effects of plant genotypes on the soil nematode community. To elucidate this, high-throughput sequencing and gas chromatography/mass spectrometry analysis was conducted to analyze the soil nematode community and the structure of root exudates in the rhizosphere of tomatoes with different resistance to Meloidognye incognita. The dominant soil nematode group in the soil of resistant tomatoes was Acrobeloides, while the soil nematode group in the rhizosphere of the susceptible and tolerant tomatoes was Meloidognye. Hierarchical clustering analysis and non-metric multidimensional scaling showed that the three soil nematode communities were clustered into three groups according to the resistance level of the tomato cultivars. The soil nematode community of the resistant tomatoes had a higher maturity index and a low plant-parasite index, Wasilewska index and disease index compared to the values of the susceptible and tolerant tomatoes. Redundancy analysis revealed that the disease index and root exudates were strongly related to the soil nematode community of three tomato cultivars. Taken together, the resistance of the tomato cultivars and root exudates jointly shapes the soil nematode community. This study provided a valuable contribution to understanding the mechanism of plant genotypes shaping the soil nematode community.

miR-34a targeting on Smad4 plays important role in TGF-ß1 pathway which is a dominant factor for balancing collagen production and degradation in hepatic stellate cells. TGF-ß1/Smad4 regulated collagen deposition is a hallmark of hepatic fibrosis. The potential regulation on miR-34a by LncRNAs in hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) is still reserved to be revealed. In current study, it was hypothesized that a miR-34a interactor, lncRNA CCAT2 may regulate TGF-ß1 pathway in liver fibrotic remodeling. The interaction between CCAT2 and miR-34a-5p was checked by dual luciferase assay. the effects of CCAT2 and miR-34a-5p on cell proliferation and apoptosis were verified by MTT assay, colony formation assay, and flow cytometry assay. Dual luciferase activity showed CCAT2 are targets of miR-34a-5p. Sh-CCAT2 transfection prohibit HSCs proliferation and induce HSCs apoptosis, also inhibited ECM protein synthesis in HSCs. Decreased miR-34a-5p enhanced HSCs proliferation, blocked HSCs apoptosis and promoted ECM protein production. miR-34a-5p inhibitor undo protective regulation of sh-CCAT2 in liver fibrosis. Furthermore, clinical investigation showed that CCAT2 and Smad4 expression level were significantly induced, while miR-34a-5p was significantly decreased in HBV related liver fibrosis serum. In conclusion, activated HSCs via TGF-ß1/Smad4 signaling pathway was successfully alleviated by CCAT2 inhibition through miR-34a-5p elevation.

Construction is closely related to people's lives and public activities. With regard to issues of energy conservation, emission reduction, and sustainable development put forth, the word "green" is increasingly used in the construction industry. Green construction is an inevitable requirement for the sustainable development of the construction industry. In addition, the government regulation mechanism is also the key to the establishment and development of green construction. Thus, on the basis of evolutionary game theory, this paper constructs an evolutionary game model of developers, general contractors, and the government. Then, the evolutionary stability strategies under different conditions are discussed. Lastly, the evolution mechanism in the game process of the green construction system and the influence of relevant parameters on the evolution path of the game model are analyzed through numerical simulation. The results show that (1) when consumer preferences change, the evolutionary stability strategies also change. Consumer preference plays a positive role in the establishment and development of green construction, but a certain increase in consumer preference will lead to free-rider behavior. (2) The government's control mechanism can not only effectively mobilize the enthusiasm of enterprises to participate but also effectively inhibit the free-rider behavior of enterprises; however, it cannot completely prevent the occurrence of free-rider behavior. (3) On the one hand, the government can advocate green consumption to promote the improvement of consumers' green preferences; on the other hand, enterprises actively carry out technological innovation and equipment advances to enhance the likelihood that consumers will embrace green preferences to achieve the optimal ESS. This study not only provides good guidance for developers and general contractors to make optimal strategic choices under different consumers' green preferences, but also provides a reference for the government to formulate reasonable regulatory policies. At the same time, it promotes the development of green construction and further promotes environmental protection.

The role of genetic factors in the occurrence and progression of CHB (CHB) is still not fully explored. In recent years, genome-wide association studies on CHB patients have demonstrated that a large number of CHB-associated single nucleotide polymorphisms exist in the gene intron, which may regulate expression at the transcriptional level. Modification of RNA m6A methylation is one of the key mechanisms regulating gene expression. Here we show that METTL16, an m6A regulator involved in mRNA intron splicing, is differentially expressed in CHB the tissue of patients who has definite diagnosis of mild and severe fibrosis. At the same time, there are also significant differences in the expression of CHB-associated genes such as HLA-DPA1 and HLA-DPB1. The expression of HLA-DPB1 is related to METTL16. Furthermore, analyses of RNA binding of METTL16 and HLA-DPB1 show that the silencing of METTL16 in astrocytes downregulates m6A and expression of HLA-DPB1. In conclusion, METTL16 participates in the progression of CHB fibrosis by regulating the m6A level and expression of HLA-DPB1.

Hepatitis B virus-related liver cirrhosis (HBV-LC) is susceptible to bacterial infections, which could lead to adverse prognosis in patients. MicroRNAs (miRs/miRNAs) are easily detected in peripheral blood and are involved in multiple liver diseases. The present pilot study aimed to investigate differentially expressed (DE) miRNAs in the serum of patients with HBV-LC and bacterial infection, and to identify potential biomarkers. The first batch of clinical samples was collected, including four patients with HBV-LC and infection, four patients with HBV-LC without infection, four patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB) and four healthy controls. miRNA expression was analyzed by Affymetrix GeneChip miRNA 4.0 Array. A total of 385 DE miRNAs (upregulated, 160; downregulated, 225) were detected in patients with HBV-LC and infection compared with patients with HBV-LC without infection. miR-4793-3p was significantly upregulated in patients with HBV-LC and infection compared with its levels in the other three groups: HBV-LC without infection [log-transformed fold change (logFC)=7.96; P=0.0458), CHB (logFC=34.53; P=0.0003) and healthy controls (logFC=3.34; P=0.0219)]. Reverse transcription-quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR) was performed to validate miR-4793-3p expression in another batch of clinical samples. RT-qPCR showed that miR-4793-3p was highly expressed in patients with HBV-LC and infection compared with its levels in patients with HBV-LC without infection (P<0.05). The non-parametric random forest regression model was built to access the diagnostic value of miR-4793-3p, and the receiver operating characteristic curve demonstrated that the area under the curve was 92.2%. Target gene analysis with bioinformatics tools and Gene Expression Omnibus data (GSE46955) showed that miR-4793-3p could participate in the TGF-ß signaling pathway. Functional experiments revealed that overexpressed miR-4793-3p could impair TGF-ß function by downregulating Gremlin-1. The present pilot study suggests that miR-4793-3p could be a feasible indicator for bacterial infection in patients with HBV-LC, and it would be valuable for further research.

A new crystal Y2Mo4O15 with dimensions of 14 × 12 × 5 mm3 was successfully grown via a top-seeded solution growth (TSSG) method. The crystal structure shows that Y2Mo4O15 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c (No. 14, a = 6.8110(4) Å, b = 9.5833(6) Å, c = 10.5124(7) Å, ß = 105.512(7)°, and Z = 2) with Mo4O15 and YO7 polyhedra as basic structural units. Optical transmittance spectra of the Y2Mo4O15 crystal exhibited a broad transmission range from 345 nm to 5575 nm. The group theory calculation and spontaneous Raman spectra show that the Y2Mo4O15 crystal has 63 IR-active modes (32Au + 31Bu) and 60 Raman-active modes (30Ag + 30Bg). The strongest Raman shift is located at 953 cm-1 caused by the asymmetric stretching vibrations of the Mo-O bonds. The spontaneous Raman spectra and the possibility of rare-earth doping to the Y2Mo4O15 crystal indicate the Y2Mo4O15 crystal to be a promising Raman and self-Raman crystal.

Certain cancer cells with nutrient auxotrophy and have a much higher nutrient demand compared with normal human cells. Arginine as a versatile amino acid, has multiple biological functions in metabolic and signaling pathways. Depletion of this amino acid by arginine depletor is generally well tolerated and has become a targeted therapy for arginine auxotrophic cancers. However, the modulatory eff ;ect of arginine on cancer cells is very complicated and still controversial. Therefore, this article focuses on arginine metabolism and depletion therapy in cancer treatment to provide systemical review on this issue.

Narrow bandwidth Si/C multilayer mirrors are fabricated and characterized for the Z-pinch plasma diagnostic at a wavelength of 16.5 nm. To reduce the large stress of the multilayer and maintain a practical reflectivity, different working pressures, from 0.13 Pa to 0.52 Pa, are optimized during the deposition. The grazing incidence x-ray reflectometry (GIXR) measurement and the fitting results indicate that an interlayer was formed at the interfaces, while both the interlayer thickness and interface widths increase with larger working pressure. The surface roughness of the multilayers also increases from 0.13 nm at 0.13 Pa to 0.29 nm at 0.52 Pa, as revealed by the atomic force microscope (AFM) measurements. The multilayer stress decreases from -682 MPa to -384 MPa as the working pressure increases from 0.13 Pa to 0.52 Pa, respectively. The experimental extreme ultraviolet (EUV) reflectivity of the samples with 20 bilayers gradually decreased from 26.3% to 18.9% with increased working pressure. The bandwidth of the reflection peak remains similar for the different samples with a full width half-maximum (FWHM) value of around 0.87 nm. A maximum EUV reflectivity of 33.2% and a bandwidth of 0.64 nm were achieved by the sample with 50 bilayers fabricated under a working pressure of 0.13 Pa.

BACKGROUND: Nonstructural protein 1 (NS1) Ag-based tests are useful for detecting dengue virus (DENV), but there is lack of evidence on the diagnostic accuracy of NS1 Ag-based tests in Asian population. Thus, we conducted this meta-analysis to obtain the overall estimated and summarized performance of the NS1 Ag-based tests in the detection of DENV in Asia. METHODS: PubMed, Embase and Medline were searched for studies that evaluated the diagnostic validity of NS1 Ag-based tests between January 1990 and November 2014. Data were analyzed by Meta-Disc and STATA software. RESULTS: A total of 18 studies including 3342 dengue cases and 1904 control cases which fulfilled the inclusion criteria were considered for analysis. The pooled sensitivity and specificity for NS1 Ag-based tests was 66 % (95 % CI 64.5-67.5) and 97.9 % (95 % CI 97.3-100), respectively. STRIP has the overall highest sensitivity (72.9 %, 95 % CI 70.1-75.5). According to viral serotype, the test with the highest sensitivity for DENV1, DENV2 and DENV3 were Platelia (83.7 %, 95 % CI 79.7-87.1), Panbio (71.8 %, 95 % CI 65.5-80.9) and STRIP (81.9 %, 95 % CI 75.5-87.2) respectively. The highest sensitivity for primary infection was Platelia (95.1 %, 95 % CI 92.6-96.9) and for secondary infection was STRIP (64 %, 95 % CI 53.2-73.9). CONCLUSION: Our meta-analysis suggests that NS1 Ag-based test is a good diagnostic method for DENV with a high specificity. However, viral serotype, serological status, clinical severity and the duration of illness are the main factors influencing the diagnostic accuracy.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of different nucleoside analogues on the long-term survival rate of patients with acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF) associated with hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. METHODS: One hundred and eighty patients with HBV-related ACLF were enrolled in this prospective cohort study and divided into a basic treatment group (n=30) and an antiviral treatment group, the latter of which was further subdivided into the lamivudine treatment group (n=66), telbivudine treatment group (n=38) and entecavir treatment group (n=46) according to voluntary choice by the patient.All study participants were followed-up for 24 months. The Kaplan-Meier method was applied for survival analysis. RESULTS: The patients in the four antiviral treatment groups had statistically similar baseline clinical characteristics and 1-month survival rates (Breslow =4.475, P=0.215).However, the basic treatment group had a significantly lower survival rate than the antiviral treatment groups that received lamivudine, telbivudine, or entecavir (all P less than 0.05) at the treatment periods of 2, 3, 6, 12 and 18-months; however, these three treatment groups showed no significant differences in survival rates. At the time point of 24 months of treatment, the basic treatment group retained its lower rate of survival than the three antiviral treated groups (lamivudine:Breslow =5.604, P=0.018; telbivudine:Breslow =5.621, P=0.018; entecavir:Breslow =14.701, P less than 0.001); while the survival rates were similar for the lamivudine treatment group and the telbivudine treatment group at this time point, their survival rates were significantly lower than that of the entecavir treatment group (Breslow =4.010, P=0.045; Breslow =4.307, P=0.038).Stratification analysis showed that when the baseline was 30 less than PTA less than or equal to 40 or MELD less than or equal to 29 or HBV DNA more than or equal to 5 log10 IU/mL, the cumulative survival rates of the basic treatment group and antiviral treatment group were statistically similar even though the patients had completed 1 month of treatment After being treated for 2, 3, 6, 12, 18 and 24 months, the cumulative survival rates of the basic treatment group were consistently below those of the overall antiviral treatment group (P less than 0.05). The cumulative survival rate of the basic treatment group followed-up for 1 to 24 months, with PTA values between 20 and 30, was lower than that of the overall antiviral treatment group (P less than 0.05); two groups of patients with PTA less than or equal to 20 or MELD more than or equal to 30 were followed-up for 1 months to 24 months, and their cumulative survival rates showed no significant difference (P more than 0.05). Among the patients whose baseline was HBV DNA less than 5 log10 IU/mL, the comparison of survival rates between the basic treatment group and the overall antiviral treatment group showed no significant differences after treatment for 1, 2, 3, 6, 12 or 18 months, and the survival rate was lower than that of the overall antiviral treatment group (Breslow =4.055, P=0.044) after 24 months. CONCLUSION: Nucleoside analogues can improve the long-term survival rate of HBV-related ACLF patients.Entecavir is preferred for the long-term treatment of these patients.Patients in the early and middle stages of this disease and HBV DNA-positive patients should adopt antiviral treatment as early as possible.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To find the patterns of the rDNA ITS sequence variation in Gentiana, and establish the molecular biological method for the identification of the four kinds wild Gentiana from different regions in Gansu. METHOD: The ITS gene fragments were PCR amplified and sequenced. The rDNA ITS regions were analyzed by means of the software of Clustal X, MEGA3. RESULT: The Complete ITS sequence of G. macrophylla, G. straminea, G. dahurica and G. officinale was 800 bp. The sequences of ITS1, ITS2 and 5.8S were 290, 340, 170 bp, respectively. Phylogenetic tree based on ITS1 and ITS2 sequences data was constrcuted by Neighbor-joining method. CONCLUSION: ITS sequence could be as the evidence for the molecular authentication of Gentiana.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To study the changes in humoral immunological function and their clinical significance in cerebral hemorrhage. METHODS: Among 115 cases of cerebral hemorrhage, there was low volume bleeding in 39 case, middle volume in 37 cases, and large volume in 39 cases. The ratios of CD19+-CD25+ and CD19+-CD25-B lymphocytes were determined by flow cytometry, and the content of IgA, IgG, IgM, and complement C3 were determined with scattered turbidimetry. The changes in humoral immunological function were compared in patients with different degrees of hemorrhage, and their variation in acute and recovery stages of disease were respectively assessed. RESULTS: The ratios of CD19+-CD25+and CD19+-CD25-B lymphocyte, and the levels of IgA, IgG, IgM, and C3 were higher than those of controls (all P<0.05). The ratios of CD19+-CD25+ and CD19+-CD25- B lymphocyte, and the contents of IgA, IgG,IgM and C3 were increased with the increase in amount of hemorrhage(all P<0.05). The ratios of CD19+-CD25+ and CD19+-CD25-B lymphocytes in recovery stage were lower than those in acute stage (all P<0.05). CONCLUSION: There are activations of humoral immunological functions in cerebral hemorrhage. The more abundant in hemorrhage and the severer in disease, the more predominant in the changes in humoral immunological functions.
